Cedar Springs Church
Cedar Springs Church-Journey with Us at Solon Center Wesleyan Church on Algoma on the west side of Cedar Springs. What fun we had producing a Mannequin Challenge video that highlights the many areas of Solon Center Wesleyan Church. From being greeted at the door, coffee time, youth programs, prayer, worship to ministries and food pantry. Solon Center serves the community of Cedar Springs and surrounding areas.
Pastor Chad Brown was ordained 1998. He and his wife Tracy come to SCWC from Mt. Pleasant where they pastored Cornerstone (Wesleyan) Church. Pastor Chad also serves as Assistant District Superintendent to the North Michigan District of the Wesleyan Church as well as holding the position of Chairman for the District Board of Ministerial Development. He is also a ministerial instructor.
According to Pastor Brown, “I want you to know we are nothing like a mannequin. We want you to come and experience what our Cedar Springs Church is all about. We want to invite you to ‘Journey with Us!”
Journey with Us
We are committed to journeying through this life together, accomplishing all that God asks of us, with a drive to love all (Matthew 22:36-40) and reach those disconnected from God (Matthew 28:18-20).
There are a number of ways to get involved at SCWC. Let us start with the youth. Trail Trekkers, a place for your children during the Sunday Morning service. Higher Ground, is for children Kindergarten through the 3rd grade and meets weekly during the worship hour. Blaze 45 is a program uniquely designed just for 4th & 5th Graders and will take place by schedule during the the worship hours.
There is an Awana program for children 3 years through 5th Grade. They meet on Wednesdays October thru March. The Youth Group, 6th – 12th grades meet every Sunday evening from 6 – 7:30 PM.
But wait, there is more. For the Women of the Church, they meet to grow spiritually, physically and emotionally in the word of God and his son Jesus. The same with the Men’s Group. The Seniors at SCWC include those 55+ meet as well as Small Groups and classes for Adults. In addition SCWC supports missionaries in our community and around the world. There is something for everyone.

“This video was a challenge to produce” states video producer for DW Video & Multimedia, LLC and host of Buy Local Michigan, Duane Weed. “It took us a couple takes to get the entire group, multiple group, all in a mannequin pose, however, we did it”.
A big shout out to a local Michigan band from Grand Rapids. DAVIDSTOUT group allowed Solon Center to use their song STOP from the Puzzles-EP as the music bed for this Mannequin Challenge Video.
