John Hopkins, chairman of the Michigan Inventors Coalition shares with Buy Local Michigan the process if bringing new inventions to market.
The Michigan Inventors Coalition is a group that assists Inventors Group across Michigan. A few years ago there were four inventors groups across the state and as of January of 2015 there are thirteen.
Bringing new inventions to market is a process. The local groups help with the process from idea to market providing advice and direction. These groups meet monthly for networking and education opportunities. Some of the educational topics include marketing, patient searches, new business start up and more.
The Michigan Inventors Coalition is helping the local groups and the state by giving inventors the tools to create products and in time new jobs. One way is by working with Maker groups. As John states, “Inventor Networks and Marker Groups are like siamese twins.” Maker Spaces are set up with tools and provide inventors a place to create their prototypes and to help them get further faster.
