Grand Rapids Art includes music and dance and is alive at the Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts each June. This came about after the Grande Vitesse was installed in the Calder Plaza back in 1969. People were looking at this great artwork and launched the start of what is today a three day event full of Art-Music-Dance throughout the downtown of Grand Rapids and on the Calder Plaza.
The Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts brings in 300,000 visitors every year to Grand Rapids and to West Michigan.
The Festival of the Arts includes: Regional Arts Exhibit and Competition, Youth Art Exhibit, Art Sales Tent, Art on the Spot, Create your own art and numerous food carts and sound stages with Michigan based bands and musicians.
